The intersection improvement and signalization of this busy intersection is being managed by Walton County. Wonderful Walton Economic Development Alliance is supporting the project by managing a grant under an interlocal agreement. Due to a significant number of military, federal workers and defense contractors using this intersection the improvement received the endorsement of the military.

Designed to become one of the most unique heritage tourism destinations in the Southeast, the museum will house the largest private collection of John Deere tractors in America, alongside vintage Caterpillar machinery and rare agricultural artifacts.

This project is a direct outcome of Wonderful Walton’s collaboration with the leadership of Eglin Air Force Base, working together to drive positive outcomes for our shared communities. That partnership helped identify SR 20 as a strategic corridor requiring near-term improvements to support both civilian and defense needs.

The Wonderful Walton Economic Development Alliance, in partnership with local producers and community leaders, is evaluating the potential for creating an online farmers market to serve Walton County and its surrounding areas. This initiative builds on a recent field visit to the Red Hills Small Farm Alliance in the Tallahassee region, which operates a successful model of a digital marketplace for local farm goods.
